2026 Saginaw County Parks Millage Renewal Information

Saginaw County Parks' millage renewal ballot language will appear on the August 4, 2026 Saginaw County ballot. A 10-year renewal is proposed, leaving the millage levy rate at its current rate of .2942. 

Ballot Question Language: 

“For the purpose of continuing funding to maintain the operation and maintenance of the Saginaw County parks and recreation system and the continuation of recreational programing and activities within Saginaw County, shall the County of Saginaw renew the previously approved amount of general ad-valorem taxes which may be imposed for all purposes upon all taxable real and personal property in Saginaw  County, as authorized by Article 9, Section 6 of the Michigan Constitution of 1963 as amended, which last resulted in a levy of 0.2942 mill, and continue to levy up to 0.2942 ($0.2492 per $1,000) of taxable valuation on such property as finally equalized during the years 2027-2036, both inclusive, which if approved and levied in its entirety is estimated to raise $2,134,016 in the first year?”

$14.71 per year for a home valued at $100,000
$29.42 per year for a home valued at $200,000
$58.84 per year for a home valued at $400,000

What does it provide?

Conservation, operation, and maintenance of more than 900 acres of parkland across Saginaw County, including seven county park facilities and support to trail systems like the BayZil and Harger Line Trail.
No gate fees for Saginaw County residents at William H. Haithco Recreation Area and Imerman Memorial Park. Discounted pavilion rates for county residents.  
Over 100 recreation programs annually
Community partnerships - events such as the Hawks Running Club's annual "Gobbler Gallop" on Thanksgiving morning, and countless more events and activities taking place in your Saginaw County Parks.
